Senior AI Engineer

Ship production AI systems for clients — Claude-based agents, RAG architectures, Agentforce deployments. Production quality bar.

About the role

You will design and ship production AI systems that real businesses depend on. Most of our AI work involves Claude (Anthropic) or Agentforce, plus custom RAG architectures and integration into Salesforce and surrounding systems. The work is mostly greenfield, technically interesting, and visible — our AI engineering practice is well-known in the market.

What you'll do

  • Design and build production AI agents and RAG systems
  • Own the technical architecture for AI engagements from discovery through deployment
  • Implement evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and ongoing tuning
  • Lead AI governance conversations — guardrails, human-in-the-loop, risk mitigation
  • Mentor engineers on AI engineering practices
  • Author internal reference patterns and contribute to public research

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of software engineering, at least 2 years building AI/LLM systems in production
  • Hands-on with at least one frontier LLM provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google)
  • Production experience with RAG, agent design, or tool-use architectures
  • Strong TypeScript or Python; comfortable with cloud infrastructure
  • Track record of shipping AI systems that handle real customer interactions

Nice to haves

These are not required — but if you have one or more, mention it in your note.

  • Salesforce Agentforce experience
  • Background in evaluation methodology, AI safety, or interpretability
  • Experience with vector databases at scale (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
  • Published research, talks, or open-source contributions in AI engineering

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation — Salary at or above market for senior consulting, plus performance bonus and equity for senior partners.
  • Healthcare — Premium medical, dental, and vision plans. 100% employee premium covered, partial dependent coverage.
  • 401(k) match — 6% company match on 401(k) contributions, vested immediately.
  • Unlimited PTO — No accrual policy. Minimum 3 weeks expected — we mean it.
  • Learning & certification budget — $3,000 annual budget for certifications, conferences, and education.
  • Home office stipend — One-time $2,000 home office setup stipend, plus $75/month ongoing for internet and utilities.
  • Parental leave — 16 weeks paid parental leave for all new parents, regardless of caregiving role.
  • Sabbatical — 4-week paid sabbatical at 5 years, 8 weeks at 10 years.
  • Team gatherings — Quarterly team gatherings in St. Louis. Travel to clients as engagements warrant.
